Beginning with the Italia '90 World Cup, opening ceremonies have grown substantially more sophisticated, having several unique and memorable moments, such as Diana Ross' famous penalty miss at the USA '94 World Cup and Nelson Mandela's words at the South Africa 2010 World Cup.
Despite some last-minute adjustments, the opening ceremony will still take place at the Al Bayt Stadium, according to FIFA and World Cup chiefs in Qatar. Initial plans were disrupted when FIFA decided to move Qatar's first game to November 20 in order to guarantee they played first. FIFA only announced the new schedule in August.
FIFA World Cup 2022 Opening Ceremony Time
FIFA still disclosed the start time for the opening ceremony, which would finally start two hours before the start of the match between Qatar and Ecuador.
